Meet Tulip: A small wind turbine that packs a punch

Flower Turbines are able to begin spinning at a wind speed of just 1.6 miles per hour/0.7 meters per second (industry standard is 6.7 miles per hour/ 3 meters per second). If you were to place our Flower Turbines next to the average competitor in 3 meters per second wind, our large model Tulip will already be producing 30 Watts of electricity as the competition is beginning to rotate.

How it works

Our carefully crafted design of the Tulip is so aerodynamically efficient that it is actually able to take the wind entering the turbine (from the left, with a cross-section of the blades in the middle), hit one blade, reverse its direction, and point toward the second blade at a higher speed than the initial wind outside.

We believe there are five major problems

preventing the small wind sector from heading toward the trillion-dollar mark:

  1. The first and second are that low noise and high efficiency are hard for most small wind solutions to achieve simultaneously and, as a result, they are unusable in areas where people live and work.
  2. The third is that turbines can’t be placed without interfering with each other’s wind flow.
  3. The fourth is that current wind turbine electronics are not made to handle the low speeds. Our turbines start operating at lower speeds than others (1.6 miles per hour, or 0.7 meters per second, as opposed to most turbines, which, according to our research, start at 6.7 miles per hour/3 meters per second).
  4. And fifth, our data shows that standard turbines can pose a risk to birds.

Our technology solves all five problems!

So we created a wind turbine you’ll actually want to live next to

Our solution features:

Less
Turbulence

Performance that is 20-50% better when closer together

Better efficiency than the same class of turbines.

Low
Noise

Beautiful
Design

Balances the times solar energy is available

What's this?

In the animation, light blue is faster wind than the blue wind. As the turbine rotates, it sends faster currents of air to its sides, which make a turbine placed next to it produce more energy.

Our "cluster effect" has demonstrated success

Flower Turbines feature a cluster effect that causes one turbine to make its neighbor perform better by creating wind channels to its sides. This allows for a higher density of turbines and energy generation per square foot. Five clustered turbines provide 228% more energy than five separate turbines.

A favorable comparison to solar in windy areas

This is a huge advantage for Flower Turbines in places where space is limited—close to people, buildings, and parking lots.

And it accompanies solar beautifully, because using both together means energy during more of a daily and seasonal cycle, thereby saving on costly battery storage.

We’re already expanding into e-bike charging

The growth of e-bikes is limited by the charging infrastructure. We see the market of electric vehicles on-grid and off-grid charging for bikes and devices as one of our large future markets in addition to selling the turbines for grid electricity. We already have a synergistic product line of on and off-grid e-bike chargers, some of which are powered by our wind turbines.

Our traction

We have demonstrated the benefits of our technology and recently started manufacturing in North America in addition to Europe. We have increasing sales and a large pipeline. In addition, our achievements speak for the power of our technology.
Investors love us
  • Flower Turbine’s had two oversubscribed StartEngine campaigns with Reg CF
  • Selected as one of Pepperdine University Business School’s top 10 out of 4500 companies as the Most Fundable Companies in America.
  • Chosen by PortXL Rotterdam as one of the 20 companies out of 1000 for investment
  • One of the 3% chosen to participate in Dreamit Venture's first Urbantech Accelerator.
  • We raised $9 million in our last Reg A+ raise
Award winning technology

Flower Turbines was chosen as one of the thousand recommended energy solutions by the Solar Impulse Foundation.

Industry recognized & patented

Flower Turbines was chosen as one of the top 45 inventions in the history of Israel (the technology was developed there before incorporation in the US). Our already strong IP portfolio with multiple patents granted and pending in multiple countries mostly in aerodynamics is about to be enhanced by game-changing patents in small wind turbine electronics.

We believe in our part in saving the planet

Our goal is to provide 5% of electric power in most major markets within the next 20 years – a significant objective, designed to have a significant impact.

Lead by a strong execution team:

Founder and CEO, Dr. Farb, a leader in renewable energy technology, Here is a link to him speaking at the US Congress. Dr. Farb was also featured on CBS's Innovation Nation.

COO in the US: Warren Stoll, who has developed companies and exited to companies like Microsoft.

Robert Winters has a background in management, logistics, and sales in the Netherlands.

Irakli Baitish is a graduate of the Technion and a teacher of the engineering software Catia. He has a company, A-B Engineering, and he specializes in designing aerodynamics products for lower-cost manufacturing and works with Flower Turbines as a Consultant.

And a great staff of engineers, consultants, and marketers.

Help change the landscape of sustainability forever

The goal of this fourth round of funding is to make us profitable and improve our critical mass in the US market as we've done in Europe where we already have increasing sales and a large sales pipeline.
